Therapist in East Dallas

If you're looking for a therapist in East Dallas, you're in range. I'm Andy Sibley, LMFT and LPC. My office is on Central Expressway at Suite 670, near the East Dallas corridor and a straightforward drive from Lakewood, Lower Greenville, and the surrounding streets.

LMFT & LPC, licensed in Texas & Louisiana. Accepting new clients. Most major insurance accepted.

Why see a therapist in East Dallas?

East Dallas is more than one street. People live near Greenville Avenue, around Lakewood, and along the older residential blocks that sit between downtown and White Rock Lake. Days fill with work, school, and neighborhood life. Therapy only happens if it can sit inside that real schedule.

That's the point of a central office on Central Expressway. Mine is at Suite 670, close enough that a session can land on a lunch break or the commute home from much of East Dallas. Neighbors in Uptown and Knox-Henderson use the same building. When the drive doesn't work, we meet online across Texas. The barrier to starting gets smaller either way.

What do you help with?

I've spent more than 20 years sitting with adults and couples in Dallas. Here's how I work.

If worry is running your week, read about my anxiety counseling in Dallas. If your relationship is the reason you're searching, see couples counseling in Dallas. Same office, same easy East Dallas commute.

What happens when I reach out?

Starting is the hard part. Here's exactly what it looks like so there are no surprises.

  1. You call or send the form. Tell me a little about what's going on. A sentence or two is plenty.
  2. We set up a first session. In person near East Dallas or online across Texas, whichever fits your week.
  3. We talk. You tell me what brought you in and what you want to change. I ask about your history and what you've already tried. No prep needed.
  4. We pick a starting point. By the end of the first session we'll have a sense of where to begin and how often to meet.

No pressure. You can ask questions first. Plenty of people feel nervous before the first call, and that's normal.

Who is Andy Sibley?

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Texas and Louisiana. Most therapists hold one of those. I hold both, which means I can work with you as an individual and with the people around you.

I earned my degree at Louisiana Tech University and I've been in practice for more than 20 years, with 16 of those also spent teaching psychology as an adjunct professor. In two decades of this work, I've learned that the people who reach out are rarely as stuck as they feel. They just need a steady person in the room.

You can read more about how conditions like anxiety and depression are described by the National Institute of Mental Health if you want background before we talk.

What does it cost, and do you take my insurance?

Plain numbers, no surprises.

I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, UMR, and United Healthcare. Coverage depends on your plan, so it's smart to confirm your therapy benefits with the number on your card. If insurance is the thing holding you back, see my fees and insurance page for the full picture, then call and I'll help you make sense of it.

Questions people ask

Where is your East Dallas office?

My office is at 4040 N. Central Expressway, Suite 670, Dallas, TX 75204. It sits on Central Expressway near the East Dallas, Uptown, and Knox-Henderson corridor, so the commute is straightforward from much of East Dallas. There's parking on site.

How much does a therapist cost in Dallas?

My self-pay rate is $200 for a 50-minute individual session and $250 for couples or family. Extended 80-minute sessions are $300. If you use insurance, your cost depends on your plan. You can read the full breakdown on my fees and insurance page.

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, UMR, and United Healthcare. Coverage varies by plan, so it helps to call the number on your card to confirm your therapy benefits. If that feels like a hassle, reach out and I'll help you sort it out.

Is East Dallas a good place to see a therapist?

For a lot of people, yes. East Dallas covers a wide stretch of daily life, and a central office on Central Expressway keeps the drive reasonable from Lakewood, Lower Greenville, and nearby streets without forcing a trip all the way across town.

Can I meet online instead of coming to the office?

Yes. I see clients online by secure video anywhere in Texas. Plenty of people mix in-person and online sessions depending on their week. If you're close enough in East Dallas, many still prefer to come in, but the choice is yours.

What kinds of therapy do you offer?

I work with adults on anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, and life transitions, and I see couples for relationship and marriage counseling. As an LMFT and LPC, I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families. We'll figure out the right focus together in the first session.

How do I book a first appointment?

Call (214) 227-6651 or request an appointment through the client portal. Tell me a little about what's going on and we'll set up a time. You can also email andy@andysibley.com. I'm accepting new clients now.

Ready to start?

You don't have to have it all figured out. Book a first session and we'll take it from there. Call, email, or send the form. I'm accepting new clients now, and what you tell me stays confidential.
